Dhananjayan Govind has bagged the National Award for Best Critic at the 64th National Awards. When CT got in touch with him, he was absolutely excited, " I have been writing several articles pertaining to Tamil cinema, the issues industry have been facing, prevailing trend, and so on. But the recognition was completely unexpected. I feel so proud that my writing has been appreciated in national level.

I always ensured that I took up topical issues to write about. The feedback I got is that the concerned people were impressed with me providing or suggesting solutions, too, for the issues I discuss about. I had sent 10 articles, which touched upon relevant topics like demonetisation, piracy, digital cinema, huge number of film releases, etc, which affect Kollywood."
